The Polish Federation of Cattle Breeders and Dairy Farmers (PFHBiPM) is the leading industry organization representing dairy cattle breeders and milk producers in Poland. Since 1995, it has operated as a voluntary, independent, and self-governing institution, serving as the sole fully authorized representative of the dairy cattle breeding community in the country.
The organization is among the oldest and at the same time the fastest-growing industry associations in Polish agriculture. It brings together 21 regional and breed-specific cattle breeders’ associations, forming a strong structure based on partnership, knowledge, and experience.
PFHBiPM is authorized to maintain herd books for dairy cattle breeds in accordance with European Union regulations and implements national breeding programs for purebred animals. The Federation’s scope of activity includes, among others, performance recording, specialized industry advisory services, and advanced laboratory analyses in the areas of milk quality, feed, and genetics.
The Federation’s activities focus on supporting breeders in achieving high production efficiency, optimizing costs, and ensuring safe and responsible herd management. PFHBiPM promotes the highest standards of animal welfare, modern breeding practices, and genetic progress, while actively representing Polish dairy cattle breeding on the international stage.
The development of Polish dairy cattle breeding is based on a combination of breeders’ many years of experience, scientific support, and modern production management technologies. Precision feeding systems, animal health monitoring, and advanced analytical tools supporting breeding decisions are playing an increasingly important role.
Thanks to consistently implemented breeding programs and growing genetic potential, Poland is strengthening its position as a reliable and competitive milk producer. The national dairy cattle population provides a solid foundation for further development of the sector and an attractive platform for international cooperation, knowledge exchange, and innovation.
