Sylwia and Łukasz KRASKA
The farm of Sylwia and Łukasz Kraska is located in the picturesque Podlasie region, in the Zambrów district. It is a modern and dynamically developing family farm where tradition is combined with a consistently implemented breeding strategy.
Łukasz took over the farm from his parents in 2003, when the herd consisted of just 35 cows. Since 2007, he has been
running the farm together with his wife Sylwia. Over the years, the farm has expanded significantly and today covers
an area of 170 hectares. The whole family is involved in the daily operation of the farm, supported by four employees, which ensures efficient management and continuous improvement of production.
The herd currently numbers 570 head of cattle, including 230 dairy cows and 340 heifers. In 2025, the average milk yield reached an impressive 13,075 kg per cow, confirming the high level of herd management, nutrition, and breeding work. Milking is carried out in a 2 × 12 side by-side milking parlour, ensuring efficient and comfortable herd handling.
The herd has been under official milk recording continuously since 1981, demonstrating a long-term commitment to systematic breeding work. The farm benefits from professional breeding services and nutritional consultancy, focusing on genetic progress and production optimization.
In addition to milk production, the farm cultivates crops—mainly maize, grasses, and alfalfa—used for high-quality silage forming the basis of the herd’s feeding.
The farm infrastructure includes a free-stall barn with slatted floors. Older heifers are housed on slatted floors, while younger heifers are kept on straw bedding. The youngest calves are raised in individual hutches. This housing system ensures good animal welfare conditions and supports high production performance.
